Chris Betcher - Adobe Education Leader

Session Outline

Adobe Creative Suite CS4 enables you to do some seriously cool stuff. This session aims to get you exploring your creative side using Photoshop CS4. We will begin by looking at some web based design tools for customising images, before we delve into Photoshop and create our very own works of art. Unleash your creativity while learning a whole bunch of useful Photoshop skills at the same time.

Don't be put off by the word "creativity"... templates will be provided, there's no drawing skill required, and you don't even need to be all that artistic. Just come and have some fun making stuff with Photoshop!

This workshop is based on suggestions I came across at the recent Adobe Summer Institute in San Jose, California. This unit of work was originally created by Scott Waldman, another AEL who teaches in New York, and has been used with great success with his students. Using a range of predesigned templates, students design their very own range of sports shoes, clothing and skateboards. In the process, they learn a number of useful Photoshop skills for digital imaging.
